Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a form of healing that uses the natural healing powers of the body and nature to help overcome disharmony in the body and bring it back to a state of good health and equilibrium, using a variety of techniques.
The main emphasis of naturopathy is to strengthen the body’s own natural healing response and promote healing, and to empower people to make the best lifestyle choices for the best possible health.
Naturopathy can help with:

As well as many other health issues.

Our naturopathic consultations involve taking a full case health history, which includes medical history, diet, lifestyle, stress, exercise habits and mental and emotional factors. From the information gathered a plan is designed to help you achieve better health.
Our naturopath is highly trained in the use of Herbal Medicine, Flower Essences and Nutritional Therapy. These forms of natural remedies are used to make up your own individual Herbal tonic and provide you with the nutrional supplements necessary to achieve optimal health. Dietary and lifestyle recommendations are also included.

Iridology

Iridology is the study and analysis of various marks, signs and discoloration of the iris to reveal the health of the body.  The iris reveals body constitution, inherent weakness and strength, states of inflammation in the body and the changing conditions of every part of the organ within the body
The iris or colored part of the eye is connected through thousands of nerve ending to every organ.  Disharmony in these areas is reflected back into the fibres of the iris. Through this we are able to identify areas within the body that are in need of attention and healing.
Iridology is conducted as part of the Naturopathy consultations, where we take a photo of your eye to get a detailed image of what is occurring within the iris fibres.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine, also called Phyto-medicine, is medicine made from plants, using the plant’s seeds, berries, roots, bark or flowers for medicinal purpose.  Herbs contain a large number of naturally occurring chemicals derived from various plant parts. This complex chemistry provides great therapeutic benefits when used to treat disorders within the body, and helps to maintain overall good health.

Herbal medicine has been used through thousands of years and is the oldest and most widely used system of medicine. Writings from Ancient Egypt and China have described the use of herbal medicine to cure illness since as early as 3000 BC.

Herbal tonics are important part of obtaining health and restoring balance to the body naturally. An individual herbal tonic is designed and put together for you after the initial naturopathy consultation. The herbal tonic is a very important and beneficial part of the treatment.

Diet & Nutrition

“Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food”   Hippocrates

The foods we eat greatly contribute to our health and well-being. The wrong food eaten often can produce illness and disease, resulting in conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, anemia and high cholesterol.

Good nutrition reduces the risk of disease and helps to maintain optimum health. A balanced diet high in nutrition is fundamental to maintaining good health and correcting illness in the body.

An individual diet plan is designed for you after the initial naturopathic consultation. This diet plan is essential to help restore health and to incorporate good dietary habits as an ongoing eating plan and lifestyle change.

Bach Flower Essences

The Bach flower remedies are dilutions of flower and plant material developed by Edward Bach and are used to help with emotional and mental issues. The remedies contain a small amount of plant material in a 50.50 solution of brandy and water. Bach believed that the early dew drops of water on the flower petals contained great healing abilities. He would collect the dew from the plants and preserve it with equal amounts of brandy. Although the Bach flower remedies are considered to be "vibrational medicine", they were also closely related to a homeopathic medicine as their formulation was similar to the dilution method used to produce homeopathics.
